ABOUT

Christine Bald is a miniatures artist from St. Louis, Missouri. She studied painting and drawing at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago before transferring to The California Institute of the Arts. At CalArts, she earned a BFA with concentration in costume design. Christine uses costume design as a lens through which to study history, the social and physical sciences, performing and visual arts, philosophy, literature, and textile science. She believes these fields inform the socio-cultural ideologies of fashion and provide the framework to develop a character's persona.

Her work in miniatures is a lifelong passion, beginning in early childhood and remaining a consistent thread running throughout her life as an artist. Christine currently works in the stop motion animation industry of Los Angeles while also pursuing her own creative ventures in miniatures. Her goal is to continuously develop her craft and story telling ability in order to explore the human condition.
